With less than a month to go for the biggest cricketing extravaganza – IPL, the franchisees are leaving no stone unturned to create maximum awareness for their respective teams.
King Khan recently held press conferences in Mumbai and Kolkata for his team Kolkata Knight Riders where he unveiled the logo, the theme song (composed by Vishal-Shekhar) and in the process had a field-day with the media. We had even earlier informed you of Preity Zinta having roped in Sajid- Wajid and Daler Mehndi for her team song. In fact last week, even the Bangalore Royal Challengers, owned by Dr. Vijay Mallya had announced their plans for an ad and a promotional video which would feature Rahul Dravid along with Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone.
Now it seems like the promotion isn’t enough for the teams. News has it that Shah Rukh Khan has apparently approached veteran music composer Bappi Lahiri to compose some more songs for his team. Bappi would be composing three songs which would be sung by him, Usha Uthup, and a Bengali band called Bhoomi. The songs would be recorded some time next week and you never know King Khan may himself croon some lines.
Meanwhile, Preity Zinta recently shot for her music video for her Mohali team. The video is made under Preity’s company called P Zinta Film World and is directed by ad filmmaker Ram Madhvani who recently directed the ‘Bheja Kam‘ track for Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par. The music of the video has a Punjabi flavor with Bhangra King Daler Mehndi lending his vocals and Sajid- Wajid (Partner, Welcome) composing the music.
Well seems like right now, cricket seems to be on top of the mind for some of our top Bollywood stars.

If you thought that the summer is at its peak now, then better think again. Because we bet that you just have seen nothing at all. The reason being that the actual heat will be felt with the release of the Harman-Priyanka starrer Love Story 2050, as this time round, it will not be one, but two Priyankas who will be doing the honors. In other words, Priyanka will be seen in a double role in this film.
Priyanka, who is tad excited about her character in the film, said that both her characters are contrast of each other. While one belongs to the present, the other one belongs to the future. Her first character is that of a smooth, coy and a girl next door kind of role, the other is that of an outlandish, loud and headstrong girl, very much unlike the first one.
Priyanka further added that, playing the two characters in the film was not a cakewalk for her. She hopes that people would like her in the film. Rowena, Harry Baweja’s daughter, who’s all praises for Priyanka, said that Priyanka has done justice to both the characters and that it will only be a delight for the audiences to watch the two different avatars of Priyanka in Love Story 2050, which is slated to release on June 13′ 2008.

Young starlet Kangana Ranaut who made her debut with Gangster, has got herself into trouble. A case has been lodged against Kangana for allegedly abusing and assaulting her driver.A complain has been filed by her driver, Rajesh Shah, in Versova police station on Wednesday evening. He accused Kangana of slapping him while he was driving her for a shoot. Kangana’s sister Rangoli was also accompanying her when the incident took place.
Shah stated in his complaint that the actress was unhappy with the way he was driving for past few months.
The driver also revealed, that the received death threats from Ranaut sisters over the phone after the incident.
When contacted, the police said they were looking into the complaint.
What were these hard-hitting Ranaut sisters doing, when acid was splashed on Rangoli’s (Kangna’s sister) face?

No, the two hot Khans dont share the same hairstylist. We are talking about upcoming movie produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment, which will have Irrfan Khan playing the main protagonist.SRK is collaborating with ace director Priyadarshan for a comedy flick titled, ‘ Billo Barber’. Unlike all SRK produced movie, Billo Barber will have SRK in a supporting role and Irrfan Khan is the main hero.
The story for Billo Barber is inspired from the legend of Krishna and Sudama. The film is the story about friendship between a rich actor (SRK) and a poor barber (IK). The duos were langotia yaars in their childhood. But later drift apart only to meet again.
An industry insider reveals, ” Billo Barber is a story based on the relationship between Krishan and his childhood friend Sudama. Priyan is adapting this story of friendship between two friends-in a completely new avatar. Here SRK represents Krishna, he plays an actor.On the other hand Irrfan Khan represents Sudama and plays a village barber. The two are friends from school who grow up and drift until they meet again.”
According to rumors, SRK will be romancing three top actresses-Kareena, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
Meanwhile the lady opposite Irrfan Khan is yet to be finalized. Priyan is looking for a energetic actress like Samita Patil for the role. Most probably Ameesha Patel or Tabu will clinch the deal.

Aditya Chopra is going to sit on the director’s seat after a long time. And his comeback movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is eagerly anticipated, which will have King Khan SRK playing the main lead.Lucky debutante Sonam Kapoor has bagged the role opposite King Khan in the movie.
According to industry sources,” Aditya Chopra was very keen to have a tall, fair Punjabi girl for the role opposite SRK. He has himself written the script and knows exactly what he wants in his heroine. The film deals with the love story of a 40-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl. Adi was also very finicky about signing the right girl because he was making his comeback to direction after a gap of eight years and wanted to get everything just so.”
But Adi was having problems in finding his leading lady, many talent hunts were organized, which lead to nothing. Finally Adi zeroed in Sonam Kapoor, after taking to Anil Kapoor.
The film is going to be released on December 12, 2008, during the Eid-ul-Zuha weekend.
SRK can play the 40-year guy with ease, but what about Sonam? Will she be able to fit the bill of a 16-year-old girl?

Yash Raj Films didn’t have a great 2007 when it came to music of their films.Barring JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM that had some foot tapping music by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy and made some impact in the charts, neither AAJA NACHLE [Salim Sulaiman] nor LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG [Shantanu Moitra] worked. TA RA RUM PUM [Vishal and Shekhar] and CHAK DE INDIA [Salim Sulaiman] were moderate successes but none lived up to the legacy of Yash Raj Films. All of this makes TASHAN an exceedingly important project for the production house that opens its account with this actioner in 2008.
Vishal Dadlani chuckles, “Even if we say this to ourselves, TASHAN is a ‘dhamaal’ score in the offering. Shekhar and I are supremely confident about the music and we are sure music lovers won’t be disappointed at all. It has the ‘dhinchaak’ element that is associated with the genre of a film like TASHAN.
Music lovers too are looking forward to the film’s music. Says Shalini Burman (Branch Manager with a Delhi based bank) – “Frankly speaking, I was a tad disappointed with TA RA RUM PUM since it was more of a Yash Raj score than Vishal and Shekhar. When I play music composed by the duo, I expect a JHANKAAR BEATS or a MUSAFIR or a DUS, something which brings to fore their own style. I hope TASHAN has a lot more of them.”
